The Western Province Blitz beat the North West Dragons by 27 runs in Potchefstroom on Thursday.
WP came into the match having suffered three defeats, to the Rocks, Knights and Titans. Their previous fixture, against the Warriors, was rained out without a ball being bowled.
Wet weather resulted in a delayed start and the match being reduced to 18-overs-a-side.
Daniel Smith and Gavin Kaplan gave WP a solid start with a 93-run opening partnership.
Smith hit 69 off 46 balls (nine fours and three sixes) to record his maiden T20 half-century, while Kaplan made 39 off 26 before being caught and bowled by Caleb Seleka.
Smith then shared a 41-run stand with George Linde (21), who was run out by Seleka. Hardus Coetzer was clean-bowled by Smith two deliveries later.
Duan Jansen dismissed Kyle Verreynne (17) and Abdullah Bayoumy (11) in the final over as WP ended on 164-5.
In reply, the Dragons lost three wickets in the powerplay.
Opener Heino Kuhn was trapped lbw by Nandre Burger for a duck and Lesego Senokwane was caught by Mihlali Mponganwa off Dane Paterson for two.
Wesley Marshall offered some resistance with 30 off 19 balls, before being caught by Burger off Tshepo Moreki as the Dragons slumped to 36-3.
The wickets continued to fall as Delano Potgieter (nine) and Shaylen Pillay (12) fell to Junaid Dawood and Burger respectively.
Senuran Muthusamy and Duan Jansen combined for 42 runs before Paterson struck again to dismiss Jansen for 23.
The Dragons finished on 137-6, with Muthusamy unbeaten on 39 off 25 balls and Hardus Coetzee 15* off 16.
