Western Province and the North West Dragons will meet in the One-Day Cup final at Newlands on Saturday.
Table-toppers WP remained unbeaten in the tournament with a five-wicket win against the Boland Rocks in Cape Town on Sunday.
The Rocks made 255 all out, with Keegan Petersen scoring 94 off 112 balls. Pieter Malan (43) and Shaun von Berg (29) also made notable contributions, while Abdullah Bayoumy (4-54) caused most of the damage with the ball for WP.
David Bedingham then struck 108* off 80 balls as the hosts cruised to their target in 32.5 overs. He received good support from Kyle Verreynne (36) and Jonathan Bird (31).
In Gqeberha, the Dragons secured second spot on the log, and a place in the final, with a convincing eight-wicket win against the EP Warriors. While both teams finished with the same number of log points (18), the Dragons qualified by virtue of having won more matches (four compared to the Dragons’ three).
Dragons pace bowler Ruan de Swardt took 4-17 in 10 overs as the Warriors were bowled out for 94 in 34.5 overs. Patrick Kruger (44) was the only batsman to offer any resistance.
The visitors needed just 20.4 overs to reach their target, with Lesego Senokwane (37) and Raynard van Tonder (23) the lead contributors.
In Johannesburg, the Central Gauteng Lions thrashed the Northerns Titans by eight wickets at the Wanderers.
Tshepo Moreki (3-23) and Evan Jones (2-21) helped bowl the Titans out for 78 in 22.5 overs, with the top three batsman – Modiri Litheko (14), Joshua van Heerden (nought) and Dewald Brevis (24) – all run out.
Ryan Rickelton (41* off 32 balls) then guided the hosts to victory in just 11.1 overs.
The match between the KZN Inland Tuskers and KZN Dolphins in Pietermaritzburg was abandoned due to rain without a ball being bowled.
