The Western Province Blitz thrashed the North West Dragons by 84 runs at St George’s Park on Tuesday.
WP’s fourth win in as many matches takes them four points clear of the Northerns Titans at the top of the T20 Challenge log while the Dragons remain third.
Province posted 164-8 in their 20 overs with opener Jonathan Bird (53 off 44 balls), wicketkeeper Dane Vilas (31 off 20) and captain Wayne Parnell (33 off 17) making valuable contributions.
Spinner Senuran Muthusamy took 4-20 in four overs, including three wickets in the 18th over.
The Dragons then produced their worst batting display of the tournament, slumping to 56-9 before being bowled out for 80.
Paceman Beuran Hendricks (4-20) and spinner Junaid Dawood (3-22) did most of the damage with the ball.
