The Cape Cobras have announced a three-year sponsorship deal with World Sports Betting.
The Cobras have been without a title sponsor since parting ways with BuildNat. However, the franchise confirmed on Monday it had brokered a partnership deal with WSB, an online sportsbook which offers in-store betting on a wide range of sport including cricket.
WSB CEO Warren Tannous expressed his delight at the newly-formed alliance and revealed that WSB will officially be added to the franchise’s name as part of the agreement.
‘We are extremely upbeat about the association with the Cape Cobras. Henceforth they will be known as the World Sports Betting Cape Cobras, and we are confident that more than three trophies over the next three seasons will be emblazoned with that exact name,’ Tannous said.
Tannous added that he hoped the partnership would aid the franchise’s bid to recapture the form which has seen them win eight pieces of silverware since 2004.
‘Our immediate aim and focus is to offer extensive resources and support to the Cobras so that they can return to the summit of the game domestically,’ added Tannous.
Cape Cobras CEO Nabeal Diem said what makes the partnership exciting is the level of passion the new title sponsor brings.
‘As the Cape Cobras, we are excited to see WSB come on board as their level of energy, passion for the game and commitment to make the Cape Cobras a world-class brand is unparalleled,’ explained Diem.
The Cape Cobras will hope that under WSB they are able to bounce back from a season in which they failed to win any silverware.
