Captain Laura Wolvaardt struck an unbeaten century as the Proteas Women beat New Zealand by seven wickets in the second ODI in Pietermaritzburg on Thursday.
Wolvaardt amassed 124* off 141 deliveries – her fourth ODI hundred – as the hosts reached their target of 254 with 4.4 overs remaining to take an unassailable 2-0 series lead.
Wolvaardt and Suné Luus (53 off 57 balls) put on 98 runs for the third wicket, which was followed by a 116-run stand with Marizanne Kapp (45* off 49 balls).
Earlier, Nonkululeko Mlaba (3-41) and Nadine de Klerk (3-44) starred with the ball for the Proteas Women as the White Ferns were bowled out for 253 in 49.5 overs.
Amelia Kerr top-scored for the visitors with 88 off 110 deliveries.
The third ODI will take place at Kingsmead in Durban on Sunday.
