Durban’s Super Giants have signed New Zealand legend Kane Williamson for the third season of the SA20.
Williamson is an experienced T20 campaigner with 6,442 runs from 254 matches, at an average of 31.57 and a strike rate of 122.58. He has scored a hundred and 45 fifties.
The 33-year-old has also picked up 30 wickets with his part-time off-spin bowling.
“Really excited to be a part of the SA20 this season with Durban’s Super Giants,” Williamson said. “Looking forward to meeting [captain] Keshav [Maharaj], [coach] Lance [Klusener] and the boys, and playing in front of a packed house at Kingsmead. Can’t wait!”
Apart from his batting prowess, Williamson has been an inspiring leader for New Zealand over the years, having captained them in four T20 World Cups, helping the team reach the final once and the semi-finals twice.
Williamson also led the Sunrisers Hyderabad to the IPL final in 2018. He was the top-scorer that season with 735 runs.
The New Zealand ace is DSG’s second pre-auction signing for 2025 following that of West Indies batsman Brandon King.
The SA20 will start on 9 January and run until 8 February.
