South African all-rounder David Wiese has been recruited by the Khulna Titans in the 2019 Bangladesh Premier League.
Ireland batsman Paul Stirling has also joined, after West Indian Sherfane Rutherford was denied a no-objection certificate.
‘Since Sherfane Rutherford failed to obtain a NOC, we were in a dire need to find a replacement. We think Paul is a great addition to the Titans squad. And we hope David is also capable of bringing some good results for us,’ said Khulna Titans media and commercial manager Minhaz Uddin Khan.
Wiese played for the Paarl Rocks in the recent Mzansi Super League. He initially joined the Rocks as a temporary replacement during batsman Cameron Delport’s brief stint in Sharjah’s T10 League. However, he eventually joined on a full-time basis after Australian Michael Klinger was sidelined by injury.
South African all-rounder Chris Morris will play for the Rangpur Riders in the BPL.
The Riders are the reigning champions. Their title defence will be aided by Morris, who has played four Tests, 34 ODIs and 18 T20Is.
He also sports Indian Premier League experience with the Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils – and played for the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the Caribbean Premier League.
The Sylhet Sixers have recruited South African spinner Imran Tahir.
‘The marvelous googly specialist from South Africa, the one and only Imran Tahir, is now a Sixer,’ the franchise revealed on social media earlier this month.
