The hosts won the series 2-1.
Sunday’s match was reduced to 45 overs a side due to rain, with the Proteas – who wore black kit to continue their stand against gender-based violence – bowled out for 209 with three balls of their innings remaining.
Marizanne Kapp top-scored with 72 off 73 balls.
The White Ferns reached their target with 10 balls remaining, as Kerr scored the final five runs to reach three figures.
The five-match T20I series between teams starts on Friday at Buffalo Park in East London.
