• Western Province Women clinch Pro20 title

Western Province were crowned champions of the Women’s Pro20 tournament on Sunday.

Having already established an unassailable lead at the top of the standings, WP ended their campaign with a dominant 48-run victory over the KZN Dolphins Ladies at Newlands.

A stellar knock from Nadine de Klerk (74), supported by an unbeaten 36* from Kayla Reyneke, propelled the hosts to a competitive total of 142-8.

Reyneke then delivered an all-round performance, returning impressive figures of 4-10 to help dismiss the Dolphins for 94.

WP were presented with the new Pro20 trophy. Crafted from glass and brass, CSA said it “embodies both elegance and resilience” adding that “its transparent glass structure symbolises clarity and precision, while the brass elements reflect the sophistication and intensity of T20 cricket”.
