Darren Bravo struck a defiant century as the West Indies secured a clinical 3-0 ODI series whitewash against Sri Lanka after a five-wicket victory in Antigua this past Sunday.
The hosts aimed for a knockout blow against Mickey Arthur’s charges and once again managed to come out on top.
Ashen Bandara made 55 and PWH de Silva hit an unbeaten 80 as Sri Lanka posted 274-6 in their allotted 50 overs.
After losing two early wickets, Shai Hope and Bravo got the West Indies’ run chase going with a 109-run stand.
Hope eventually fell for 64 but Bravo kicked on to reach a classy half-century to put the West Indies in command.
Bravo departed for 102 before captain Kieron Pollard delivered the deciding blow with a half-century of his own to get the West Indies over the line with nine balls to spare.
