The first Test match between the West Indies and Sri Lanka concluded in a draw on Thursday after the hosts batted out the final day in Antigua.
Chasing 375 for victory, the men from the Caribbean resumed their second innings on 34-1 on Thursday, facing a stern test to earn a result.
But, a brilliant century by Nkrumah Bonner, steadied the West Indies ship as they fought their way to a draw.
Kyle Mayers reached a half-century of his own before departing for 52, while Jason Holder saw out the day with Nkrumah unbeaten on 113.
In the end the West Indies settled on 236-4 with the second and final Test match starting on Monday.
