Andrew Tye has come under fire for seemingly purposefully bowling a wide to deny James Vince a century in a Big Bash League match.
Vince needed two runs for his century, but his side, the Sydney Sixers, only needed a run to win. Tye proceeded to bowl a bouncer that looped high and wide down the leg side, denying Vince the milestone.
Tye claims he didn’t mean it, while Vince told Fox Cricket: ‘I don’t want to point fingers. It almost hit him on the toes, it was pretty short. I hope he didn’t mean it anyway.’
“Anyone who knows AJ Tye knows that he plays the game in the best of spirits.”
