Tim Paine and Ravi Ashwin had a heated exchange during the Sydney Test match that ended in the wicketkeeper accusing the spinner of being disliked by his teammates.
Ashwin was central to India saving the Test, batting through the entire final session of play in partnership with Hanuma Vihari.
As the day drew to a close, Paine decided to vent his frustration at Ashwin, sparking an exchange that went:

Paine: ‘Can’t wait to get you to the Gabba, Ash.’
Ashwin: ‘Can’t wait to get you to India, it’ll be your last series.’
Paine: ‘Maybe. At least my teammates like me, dickhead.’
Paine has also been fined 15% of his match fee for swearing at umpire, Paul Wilson, after a DRS decision went against his team in the 56th over of the same Test. ‘Where’s the f***ing consistency, Blocker [Wilson’s nickname]?’.
Wilson reported the incident to match referee David Boon. Paine admitted to the offence, which also earned him one demerit point.
