Melbourne Stars spinner Adam Zampa ran out the Melbourne Renegades’ Tom Rogers at the non-striker’s end only for the umpires to rule not out.
This was because Zampa’s arm had “gone past the vertical” – too far into his bowling action.
Stars coach David Hussey told Fox Cricket the team would’ve withdrawn the appeal if it had been given out.
“It’s not the right way to play cricket – yet. It was more of a warning for the batter not to leave too early,” he said.
The Renegades went on to win the BBL match at the MCG by 33 runs.
