Today five years ago Chris Gayle produced one of the greatest, if not the very greatest, innings in T20 cricket when he smashed 175 runs from 66 deliveries in the 2013 IPL.
Playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the time, Gayle as always opened the batting alongside Tillakaratne Dilshan in their clash with the Pune Warriors.
The West Indian, though, would send the Pune bowlers all across the ground with 17 sixes and 13 fours at an incredible strike rate of 265.

Gayle’s heroics with the bat helped the Challengers to a total of 263-5 in their 20 overs before restricting Pune to 133-9, resulting in a massive 130-run win.
