The EP Warriors secured a six-wicket victory over the KZN Dolphins in their T20 Challenge clash at St George’s Park on Sunday.
After winning the toss, the hosts chose to field, and it proved to be a wise decision as CJ King (3-18) and Siya Plaatjie (2-24) tore through the Dolphins’ top order, reducing the visitors to 68-4 after 9.2 overs.
Eathan Bosch provided some resistance with a valuable 45 before falling to Beyers Swanepoel, and the visitors finished on 162-9.
King then delivered an all-round performance, contributing 41 with the bat, while Jean du Plessis anchored the Warriors’ innings with an unbeaten 69.
The hosts sealed the win with four balls to spare.
Meanwhile, the Cape derby between Western Province and Boland at Newlands was abandoned without a ball bowled due to inclement weather.
