South Western Districts batsman Jean du Plessis will play for the EP Warriors next season.
The 25-year-old scored 591 runs in five matches in this season’s Division 2 4-Day Series at an average of 73.87, with three centuries and a fifty.
Two of those centuries came in one match, against the Eastern Cape Inyathi (Border) – 203 and 101.
That earned him selection for South Africa A, and he made 106 and 50 against India A in Potchefstroom.
Du Plessis was loaned to the Boland Rocks for one Division 1 4-Day Series match against the Central Gauteng Lions, in which he scored 120 in the second innings.
All in all, he scored 882 first-class runs this season, at an average of 80.18.
