The Cobras’ winless 4-Day Domestic Series continued when they slumped to an 80-run defeat by the Warriors.
The Cobras haven’t won a match in the competition this season, extending a winless streak in this format that dates back to January 2019.
Much of their fortune rested with Janneman Malan and Kyle Verreynne, who were not out overnight. However, Verreynne flew early, and the remainder of the Cobras lineup failed to mount any significant push for the target of 265.
Ultimately they were bowled out for 185, Malan top-scoring with 65. Jon-Jon Smuts (3-57), Glenton Stuurman (2-38), Basheer Walters (2-36) and Mthiwekhaya Nabe (2-26) all chipped in with wickets.
In Bloemfontein, Shaun von Berg (4-68) and Duan Jansen (4-44) shared eight wickets as the Knights beat the Lions by nine wickets.
The Lions were following on, and were ultimately shot out for 227 – Dominic Hendricks top-scoring with 98 – leaving the Knights just 16 runs to chase.
