Never one to be far from controversy, legendary spin king Shane Warne has revealed all about one of his most scandalous sexual escapades that exploded across the world media back in 2006.
In his new book, No Spin, Warne relates the story of how he was lured by a saucy text message to the London apartment of model Emma Kearney, a friend of New Zealand model Coralie Eichholtz, who was herself a friend of the Aussie bowler.
Warne was in the middle of a County Cricket match for Hampshire in Southampton when he received a text message from Eichholtz that read: ‘You should be here with me.’
‘Immediately following on from the text, she sent a picture of her kissing a girlfriend. They were in London, I was in Southampton. I texted back, saying I’d be there in an hour,’ wrote Warne.
Warne grabbed two bottles of champagne, a bottle of vodka and headed to London.
When he arrived at the apartment, Warne stated that the two ladies started dancing very provocatively and started kissing each other.
‘I said, “Don’t mind me, just keep going — I’m quite happy just sitting here.” I sat there having a smoke and a drink as they started to take off their clothes. At the bra and knickers point, they got out a massive inflatable sex toy — kind of drunken, silly stuff …
‘There was a lot of laughter, another drink, and one thing led to another. I started kissing them both, clothes off, and then, from nowhere, they pulled a bed out of the wall! Well, we just went for it.’
Warne revealed that he left the apartment at well past 2am, then drove back to Southampton where he grabbed a couple of hours sleep in his car before play resumed in the cricket match. Far from suffering the effects of his early morning escapades, Warne was at his brilliant best on the field, taking 7-99 to set up a Hampshire victory.
Later that day Warne was called by the editor of the News of the World tabloid who informed him that they had pictures of Warne’s activities with the ladies in the London apartment.
Furious, Warne called Eichholtz who admitted her friend had sold the story after placing a hidden camera in the apartment.
‘What sort of person hides a camera and then sells the pictures?’ wrote Warne. ‘To me, only a pretty sad mind goes undercover to make a few bucks out of a friend and a guy she’s never met before. Either that or Coralie was lying and she set the whole thing up. Then it’s even worse.’
Warne also wrote that the time he spent with actress Liz Hurley were the ‘happiest years of my life’.
