Captain Dane Vilas is eager to capitalise on the momentum gained from the Durban Heat’s three consecutive victories in the 2019 Mzansi Super League.
The Heat had not won a match this season 10 days ago, but have since enjoyed triumphs over the Cape Town Blitz, Nelson Mandela Bay Giants and Paarl Rocks.

They will play the Jozi Stars at the Wanderers on Saturday. Early next week, they will play the Stars again, this time at Kingsmead in Durban.
‘In any tournament, you always want to be playing your best cricket at the end of the competition. Hopefully we keep peaking, we keep going and we continue to play good cricket,’ said Vilas.
‘We’re playing some incredible cricket at the moment and we’re really excited about the next few days.’
The Heat currently occupy fourth position in the six-team standings. The Stars, meanwhile, have been ruled out of contention for this season’s title in the wake of seven successive defeats and a washout. They are the reigning champions, having beaten the Cape Town Blitz in last year’s inaugural final.
The Blitz, meanwhile, are almost out of contention for this year’s title as well. They lost to the table-topping Nelson Mandela Bay Giants at Newlands on Friday.
