Durban Heat captain Dane Vilas is confident of overcoming the depth posed by the Tshwane Spartans in Thursday’s Mzansi Super League fixture at SuperSport Park in Centurion.
The Spartans and Heat currently occupy third and fifth position, respectively, in the 2019 tournament’s six-team standings. Both have endured two washouts.

‘It’s still very early and it’s still fresh for us. We still got plenty of games to play and we want to try and get on to a nice roll,’ said Vilas.
‘It will be tight because they’re in a similar position to us with the two washed-out games. Both teams will be looking for a win.
‘I know they’re a very good side, just looking at their depth, but we’re pretty confident that we can put on a good show.’
The Heat lost to the Cape Town Blitz at Kingsmead in Durban late last week, when a superb 83 from batsman Wihan Lubbe went in vain.
‘It was a tough one to lose in the end, but I think we can take away a lot of positives from that match,’ added Vilas.
‘I think we definitely are closer to finding that blueprint. We’ll see where we went wrong in the last one, see where we can improve and adapt that blueprint a little bit better moving on to the next game.
‘We have a quick turnaround where we go three games away, hopefully we’ll be able to play some good cricket and get going.’
