• Verreynne omission baffles readers

    In a poll run on SA Cricket magazine’s Twitter handle, nearly 90% of voters said they could make no sense of the fact that Kyle Verreynne was not picked for the first two T20Is.

    The 23-year-old is regarded as one of the most talented cricketers in South Africa, but has had relatively limited opportunities with the national side.

    In the recent third ODI against Pakistan, he scored a superb half-century, but has been conspicuous by his absence in the first two T20Is.

    In the poll run by this website, 88.5% said his continued omission made no sense, while just 11.5% suggested it was understandable.
