Proteas and Cobras batsman Stiaan van Zyl has signed for English County side Sussex on a three-year contract.
The news was confirmed via the club’s official Twitter page on Wednesday.
Van Zyl, who has played 12 Test matches for South Africa, will join his new club in 2017 after completing the current domestic season with the Cape Cobras.
The 29-year-old has scored 18 first-class centuries at an average of over 42 while he also offers a bowling option with his medium pace.
‘I am very excited to be joining such a prestigious club as Sussex and can’t wait to be contributing on and off the field, especially with the youngsters coming through,’ Van Zyl was quoted as saying on the Hastings Observer website.
‘I look forward to scoring plenty of runs and taking plenty of wickets in the new county season and aiming to help Sussex towards silverware next season.’
