Fast bowlers Nandre Burger and Gerald Coetzee, both uncapped in international cricket, will be among several South African players available for purchase during Thursday’s Indian Premier League auction in Kolkata.
Burger and Coetzee played for the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants and Jozi Stars in the recent Mzansi Super League. The latter is currently sidelined by injury.
The Tshwane Spartans’ Corbin Bosch has also been listed for the auction ahead of the 2020 edition of the IPL.

Proteas fast bowler Dale Steyn’s auction base price is R4 million, while all-rounder Chris Morris and seamer Kyle Abbott have been registered at a minimum R2.5m each. Steyn and Morris will play in Australia’s Big Bash League later this year.
Fast bowler Anrich Nortje, who was recruited by the Kolkata Knight Riders last year but did not play a match due to injury, and left-armer Beuran Hendricks, who was a late addition to the Mumbai Indians squad in 2019, have been listed at a minimum of R1m each.
The Chennai Super Kings, meanwhile, have retained Proteas trio Faf du Plessis, Lungi Ngidi and Imran Tahir. The Delhi Capitals have kept fast bowler Kagiso Rabada.
