Hernus Marais took 4-18 as the Northerns Titans beat Western Province by 16 runs at the U19 Khaya Majola Week on Monday.
Marais was well supported by Tristan Luus (2-41), with WP’s Benni Hansen’s left stranded on 114.
Northerns will face the Central Gauteng Lions in the first unofficial semi-final on day four, with KwaZulu-Natal meeting KZN Inland in the second.
The Lions defeated KZN Inland by 29 runs to top their pool. Ross Boast (2-30) helped reduce the Lions to 35-3 before Luke Francis (73) and Henricus Meyer (41) batted their team out of trouble.
North West’s Ludwich Schuld scored 117*, his second century of the week, in his team’s four-wicket win over Border, with Border brothers Jacques (70) and Ben van der Merwe (59) contributing half-centuries.
SA U19 all-rounder Riley Norton (84*), Johan Wege (52) and Josh Jordaan (52) helped Boland beat Free State by 74 runs.
KwaZulu-Natal topped their pool after a 131-run victory over Eastern Province. Ross Coetzee (66*) and Hayden Bishop (50) led the batting effort, while Ntando Soni (3-11) continued to excel with the ball.
