KZN Inland Tuskers head coach Grant Morgan has resigned just five matches into their 2023-24 domestic campaign.
Morgan, who assumed the role last season, was instrumental in helping the Tuskers gain promotion to Division 1.
They are currently seventh on the eight-team One-Day Cup log after one win and four defeats.
The 52-year-old submitted his resignation on Friday, citing personal reasons.
“We would like to thank Grant for the role he played in getting Tuskers cricket into the top division of domestic cricket in South Africa,” said KZN Inland Cricket Union CEO Jason Sathiaseelan.
“It’s unfortunate that we will be losing a coach with his experience and knowledge of the game, in particular the domestic game.
“The whole of the KZN Inland Cricket Union wishes Grant all the best for the future.”
Athi Maposa, the current assistant coach, will assume the role of head coach for the remainder of the One-Day Cup, with Yusuf Abdulla serving as his assistant coach.
