The Titans fought back late in the day to rein in the Lions to 265-8 in their Sunfoil match in Benoni.
It was a good fightback too, for the Lions were threatening to run out of control when they were 238-3 after 84 overs. But then five wickets fell for 22 runs to give the Titans hope.
The Lions had started solidly after being sent in to bat, but they based their total on an unbeaten anchoring role by Nicky van den Bergh, who did so much to hold up the Cobras victory charge last time out.
This time, he ended the day on 70 off 154 balls, which included just six fours, and shared a stand of 128 with Devon Conway. That followed a second-wicket partnership of 79 between Reeza Hendricks (47) and Dominic Hendricks (39).
The dismissal of Conway, lbw to Chris Morris for 66 off 146 balls sparked the collapse, with Malusi Siboto finding new life with the new ball to take three wickets in each of his next three overs.
