Rivash Gobind has been appointed as the new head coach of the Northerns Titans.
The former KZN Dolphins cricketer has signed a three-season contract with the Centurion-based provincial union.
Gobind has built an impressive coaching resume. He has served as an assistant coach for the Dolphins and the Warriors and held roles with several international teams, including the Proteas, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. He is currently part of the coaching staff for Durban’s Super Giants in the SA20.
Gobind’s credentials include a Level 4 coaching certificate and an MBA, highlighting his leadership acumen.
“We are delighted to welcome Rivash Gobind as the new head coach of the Titans,” said Titans CEO Jacques Faul. “His experience and proven track record make him a strong fit for our high-performance environment. We look forward to the journey ahead under his leadership.”
Faul also extended his appreciation to Richard das Neves, who served as interim head coach.
“Richard has been outstanding. He brought structure and intellect to the team during a transitional period, and we are incredibly grateful for his efforts. He will continue to play a key role in our setup, with a new senior position to be announced shortly.”
Albie Morkel will continue as Titans assistant coach.
“Albie has identified and developed talented players and played a big part in taking them to the next level; we are thankful that he continues in this role,” said Faul.
Gobind said: “It is an honour to be entrusted with the head coach role at an institution like the Titans, which has a proud history of excellence and player development. I’m excited for the challenge ahead and committed to building on the legacy of success.”
