Proteas wicketkeeper Mangaliso Mosehle turned 30 years old on Friday, 24 April 2020. Mosehle played seven T20Is in 2017, but none since.
Six off first ball in international cricket
- Mosehle faced just one delivery on debut against Sri Lanka at SuperSport Park in Centurion in January 2017. He lofted seamer Nuwan Kulasekara’s closing delivery of the ninth over beyond the boundary rope at deep point. The debutant was run out in the next over.

Five franchises
- Mosehle has represented four franchises across the domestic circuit – and one in the Mzansi Super League. He started at the Titans before moving to the Lions. He then joined the Dolphins – and was on loan to the Cape Cobras earlier this year. Mosehle, too, was central to the Paarl Rocks’ title-winning MSL campaign in 2019.
99 is not 100 percent
Mosehle had gone from international cricketer for South Africa to provincial recruit for KwaZulu-Natal Inland in just three years. His franchise career reignited via the Dolphins earlier this year. He was then shared with the Cobras, but didn’t stay, and has instead been contracted by the Dolphins for the 2020-21 season. ‘We did actually offer Mosehle a contract and his agent said to me‚ “It is done. It is 99 percent done”. And the next day he phoned back and said Mosehle has changed his mind,” said Cobras coach Ashwell Prince.
