The Amazon Warriors clinched a two-wicket win against the Trinbago Knight Riders to see them advance to the Caribbean Premier League final.
It was a nail-biting finish in a low-scoring match in Providence. The Knight Riders, after an awful start, powered their way to 122-7, thanks to back-end cameos from Danesh Ramdin (15), Colin Ingram (25), Darren Bravo (24), Dwayne Bravo (22) and Kevin Cooper (15).
Tight bowling from the Warriors saw Chris Green (2-8), Sohail Tanvir (2-38) and Imran Tahir (1-22) do the early damage, as the Amazon Warriors found themselves four down with 26 on the board.
The Warriors’ reply was led by a 36-ball 39 from Shimron Hetmyer and a 17-ball 30 from Sherfane Rutherford before Tanvir (10) struck the winning runs with a ball to spare as Guyana Amazon Warriors secured a spot in the CPL final for the fourth time.
Among those performances, a chunk of the runs was comprised of 13s from Luke Ronchi, Chadwick Walton and Romario Shepherd.
