Imran Tahir took his wickets tally to 21 for the season with an incredible 4-12 that skittled the Delhi Capitals for 99 runs, and helped claim an 80-run win for the Chennai Super Kings.
It was a clash that could have seen the Proteas skipper Faf du Plessis face off against his golden boy Kagiso Rabada, but the young speedster was rested due to a stiff back.
This is a good warning shot for CSA, who should consider pulling the 23-year-old from the competition to keep him fresh for the World Cup.
Despite both teams already sealing their qualifying spots, the match was still entertainingly competitive between the sides.
Du Plessis contributed a tidy cameo to help his side recover from their slow start which saw them put four on the board in 3.2 overs before Shane Watson lost his wicket.
The Proteas skipper scored two fours and two sixes for his 40-ball 39, before falling victim to left-arm spinner Axar Patal.

The Chennai Super Kings managed to post 179-4 thanks 59 off 37 balls from Suresh Raina, and a 22-ball 44 from MS Dhoni, while Ravindra Jadeja scored a 10-ball 25.
The star of the show, however, was Tahir, who took three crucial wickets for his side.
He kicked things off by removing the dangerous Rishabh Pant with his second delivery, which kick-started the Delhi Capitals’ top-order collapse.

He added another two victims to his hit list in his second over, his famous google doing the trick to remove both Patel and the dangerous Sherfane Rutherford.
Tahir finished off the Capitals with the wicket of Amit Mishra as he picked up his 21st wicket of the campaign and helped claim an 80-run win for his side.
