Imran Tahir returns for the Dolphins in their Sunfoil Series clash against the Knights at Kingsmead on Thursday.
This will be the Dolphins’ first home match this season and Tahir will look to help his side bounce back from their recent defeat against the Titans, after starting off the season with victories against the Warriors and the Lions.
After losing spinner Keshav Maharaj to a Proteas call-up for the series against Australia, Tahir will look to match the the 26-year-old’s impressive performances for his franchise.
Dolphins head coach Grant Morgan is delighted with the inclusion of the Proteas star’s inclusion in the squad.
‘When a guy like Immy Tahir does come into the mix, you need to make full use of that,’ he said. ‘He is the best one-day spinner in the world and a guy of his reputation and his skill is going to ask a lot of questions, especially at this level.
‘Hopefully he can put some doubt in the minds of the opposition just by his sheer presence alone.’
Tahir has played 188 first-class matches and taken 766 wickets at an average of 26.48.
