The Central Gauteng Lions edged the Northerns Titans by one run in Friday’s T20 Challenge match at the Wanderers.
Requiring 14 runs to win off the final over, bowled by Proteas quick Kagiso Rabada, the Titans ended up needing three off the last delivery.
Corbin Bosch attempted a reverse scoop, missed the ball, and he and Aaron Phangiso were only able to scamper through for a bye.
That dramatic finish came after Rivaldo Moonsamy had struck 88 off 50 balls (six fours and six sixes) to help the visitors recover from 12-2.
Earlier, Wiaan Mulder (48 off 32 balls), Mitchell van Buuren (37* off 27) and Delano Potgieter (32* off 15) helped the Lions post 183-5 after they’d been in trouble on 54-4.
In Paarl, openers Grant Roelofsen (71* off 45 balls) and Bryce Parsons (47 off 36) guided the KZN Dolphins to a nine-wicket win against the Boland Rocks with 5.3 overs remaining.
The Rocks managed just 125-8, with Daryn Dupavillon, Okuhle Cele, Ottniel Baartman and Prenelan Subrayen each taking two wickets for the Dolphins.

Spinner Senuran Muthusamy took 3-16 in his four overs for the Dragons, who hosted this match after the Tuskers’ Pietermaritzburg Oval lost its hosting rights for the tournament.
