Quinton de Kock could manage only 25 runs as the Mumbai Indians suffered a heavy 10-wicket defeat by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final pool match of the 2020 IPL.
With the Mumbai Indians having already booked their place in Thursday’s first playoff encounter, the Sunrisers still had lots to play for and decided to field first after captain David Warner won the toss.
It proved to be a handy decision with bowlers Sandeep Sharma, Jason Holder and Shahbaz Nadeem making valuable contributions to have Mumbai struggle to get going.

Rohit Sharma returned for Mumbai but could manage only four, while Kieron Pollard finished on 41 as Mumbai posted 149-8 in their 20 overs.
In reply, Warner and opening partner Wriddhiman Saha took the attack to the Mumbai bowlers by smashing them all around the park.
Both players reached their half-centuries as they guided the Sunrisers over the line with more than two overs remaining.
Warner finished the innings on a unbeaten 85 and Shah on 58 as the Sunrisers secured their spot in the playoffs by finishing the preliminary round in third spot.
They will now face the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the eliminator match on Friday.
