Dale Steyn’s adequate comeback saw him pick up a wicket, and more importantly, complete a scatheless return to competitive cricket.
After over a year on the sidelines, Steyn was back in action for the Titans in their second Ram Slam T20 clash in Kimberley on Wednesday.
The Titans claimed an eight-wicket win against the Knights, and Steyn played his part in restricting them to 161-7 after the Titans posted 199-4.
It was a wobbly return for the Phalaborwa express, who struggled to find his line and length, conceding 17 runs in his first over. It was, however, refreshing to see Steyn back in action, as he got through a challenging opening over unscathed.
He managed to get a wicket off the first ball of his second over when De Bruyn went after him, AB de Villiers taking a simple catch in the deep.
Steyn bowled three overs, taking one wicket for 25 runs at an economy rate 8.33, a quiet return for the Proteas’ second-highest wicket taker.
