Dale Steyn tantalised Ottis Gibson and the national selectors with another two scalps for the Titans.
The Proteas speedster has quietly gone about his business, picking up four wickets in three games for the Titans.
His 2-16 against the Cobras was an indication of his consistent progression as he targets an immediate return to the national side.
The Cobras’ star-studded batting lineup was completely outclassed by the Titans’ bowlers and stumbled to 120-9 in their 20 overs. Steyn activated the Titans’ steamroller, removing Wayne Parnell on the last ball of his opening over.
The hosts throttled the Cobras from there on, removing their top seven for 97 runs, which included Steyn’s second scalp – Qaasim Adams out for eight on the first ball of the 16th over.
The ‘Phalaborwa Express’ finished with an economy rate of 4.00 and was a vital part of the Titans’ dominant seven-wicket victory over a hapless Cobras side.
