Mitchell Starc and Mitchell Marsh are available for the third Test after they both passed a fitness test.
Seamer Starc had been struggling with a calf niggle. As a precaution, he sat out the training session on Monday, leading to concerns that he may not recover in time.
‘I heard Cameron Bancroft say that he was bowling quite quick, so that’s exciting to have him up and going,’ said Australia spinner Nathan Lyon on Tuesday.
‘I know the bowlers are feeling pretty fresh after a couple of days off. It’s been a big summer for them … but I’ve got no doubts about Starc.’
Marsh, who picked up a groin injury in Port Elizabeth, has also recovered and is expected to line up for the third Test.
