Sri Lanka named their squad for the one-off T20I against the Proteas on 14 August.
After trailing the Proteas 3-1 in the ODI series with one match to go, the hosts will hope they can finish off the series on a high.
They showed great fight in the fourth ODI on Wednesday to beat the Proteas in a thrilling three-run victory and will hope they can win the last ODI on Sunday to take that momentum into the T20 on 14 August.
They announced their 15-man T20I squad to take on the Proteas which included Dinesh Chandimal who returns after a long ban.
Angelo Mathews will return as captain of the side after missing Sri Lanka’s tri-series against Bangladesh and India and will lead a side that also includes five players who missed that series.
Left-arm fast bowler Binura Fernando has been included and could be in line to play his first T20I in over three years, having played his only two T20Is in 2015 against Pakistan. He has played no international cricket since.
Dhananjaya de Silva, who showed his big-hitting quality in the third ODI against the Proteas by smashing a 66-ball 84, has also been called up to the T20I squad.
There was no call-up for Sri Lanka superstar Lasith Malinga.
