A stalwart in the Chennai Super Kings camp, Proteas batsman Faf du Plessis returns for his ninth season in the Indian Premier League this year. Take a lot at his stats and record from previous IPL campaigns.
Du Plessis began his IPL career with the men in yellow back in 2012 when he broke onto the scene as one of the brightest young South African cricket talents.
Since then Du Plessis has become a household name for the Super Kings but also in the T20 format specifically, where he continues to excel on both the domestic and international front.

Having recently retired from Test cricket, the right-hander will have extra ambition to do a solid job with the Super Kings after a below-par performance last year by the team.
Du Plessis enjoyed two years at the Rising Pune Supergiants in 2016 and 2017 before returning to the Super Kings in 2018, featuring as one of the leaders in the team.
In 2013 he didn’t play one game, however, due to injury.
