Still an Indian Premier League rookie, Proteas speedster Anrich Nortje lit up last year’s edition with devastating effect to establish himself in the Delhi Capitals outfit. Here’s a look back at his debut season.
In 2019 Nortje was initially bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders but was unfortunately unable to compete in the IPL due to a shoulder injury.
He was released by KKR ahead of the 2020 auction but ended up signing with the Capitals but as a replacement for Chris Woakes, who focussed his attention on England.

Nortje joined up with fellow South African paceman Kagiso Rabada and together the pair become an excellent force for the Capitals. Nortje starred with the ball and played a crucial part in guiding the Capitals to the IPL final.
He also bowled the fastest delivery ever recorded in the IPL when he clocked 156.22km/h against the Rajasthan Royals. He finished the campaign with the fourth most wickets (22).
