The Free State Knights thrashed the EP Warriors by nine wickets in their T20 Challenge match at St George’s Park on Monday.
Needing 171 to win, the Knights reached their target with eight balls to spare.
Christoffel Klijnhans (67* off 54 balls) and Jacques Snyman (90 off 52) set the tone at the top of the order with the latter hitting 10 fours and three sixes.
The result was a foregone conclusion by the time Snyman was dismissed off the first ball of the 18th over with the score on 156. Captain Pite van Biljon finished on 12*.
Earlier, the Warriors posted 170-5 in their 20 overs, with 21-year-old Tristan Stubbs top-scoring with 65 off 35 balls. He hit three fours and five sixes.
Gerald Coetzee and Jacques Snyman each picked up two wickets for the Knights.
