Jason Smith’s vital 92 to help the Cobras post 337 on day two of their 4-Day Franchise Series clash against the Titans, is KHALID MOHIDIN’s Play of the Day.
An exciting match is unfolding at SuperSport Park as the Cobras skittled the Titans for 122 in their first innings on day one and managed to close out the day with 256-8 and Smith still at the crease on 44.
The young all-rounder dug in on day two to reach his 10th first-class half-century and helped the Cobras add 81 runs to their total on day two.
Despite a tail collapse after a cameo 34 from Tladi Bokako, Smith managed to reach 92 off 131 balls (13 fours, one six), before losing his wicket to Proteas seamer Junior Dala.

‘It felt good to score runs against the Titans, I’m just disappointed that I couldn’t get to the next milestone,’ Smith told SACricketmag.com after the day’s play. ‘I think scoring runs against the defending champions is always going to be a great feeling.
’But the most important thing is that everyone makes a contribution to our team, which will put us in good positions to win games.’
His performance bumped the Cobras into a strong position and their bowlers did well again to put them three down with 70 on the board until the defending champs fought back through a Theunis de Bruyn century and 98 from Jonathan Vandiar.
The Titans ended the day on 301-5 with a lead of 86 runs.
Smith and his teammates will have to put in another great performance with the ball on day three to put the Cobras back in the driving seat.
