Nondumiso Shangase will captain an SA Emerging Women’s team against the touring New Zealanders in a 50-over warm-up match in Benoni on Thursday.
Shangase is one of three players with international experience, along with Andrie Steyn and Mieke de Ridder.
They are joined by Western Province’s Leah Jones and Caitlin Wyngaard, the KZN Dolphins’ Nicole de Klerk and Jané Winster of the Garden Route Badgers.
There are also six future stars from South Africa’s first U19 Women’s T20 World Cup squad – Refilwe Moncho, Mainé Smit, CSA Women’s U19 Player of the Year Karabo Meso, Seshnie Naidu, Ayanda Hlubi and Jenna Evans.
The team will be coached by SA U19 Women and National Academy head coach Dinesha Devnarain.
