• Proteas bat as Shamsi comes in, Amla out

    The Proteas won the toss and chose to bat against Australia at Old Trafford in their final match of the World Cup on Saturday.

    South Africa made one change to their lineup, with wrist-spinner Tabraiz Shamsi replacing Hashim Amla, who injured his knee while playing soccer during the warm-ups on Friday.

    South Africa are essentially playing for pride, while Australia will top the World Cup standings with a win in the last round-robin match.

    Australia: David Warner, Aaron Finch (c), Usman Khawaja, Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey (wk), Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Jason Behrendorff, Nathan Lyon.

    South Africa: Quinton de Kock (wk), Aiden Markram, Faf du Plessis (c), Rassie van der Dussen, Jean-Paul Duminy, Dwaine Pretorius, Andile Phehlukwayo, Chris Morris, Kagiso Rabada, Imran Tahir, Tabraiz Shamsi.
