Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan and reserve player Nurul Hasan were both docked 25% of their match fee after their actions during an ill-tempered victory over Sri Lanka.
The two were also given one demerit point each for breaching Level One of the ICC Code of Conduct during their two-wicket win over the Sri Lankans on Saturday.

The virtual semi-final clash of the Nidahas Trophy T20I tri-series in Colombo on Saturday was marred by ugly scenes between the players of the two teams as Nurul was involved in a heated altercation with Sri Lankan Thisara Perera in the final over of the chase.
The incident involving Shakib happened in the 20th over of the Bangladesh innings when he came to the edge of the boundary and gestured at his batsmen to come off the field while remonstrating against an umpiring decision.
According to reports, his displeasure came after the on-field umpire failed to award a no-ball to bowler Isuru Udana, who kept two of his deliveries short to Mustafizur Rahman in the final over.
It was further reported that while celebrating their win, a Bangladesh player allegedly broke a glass door in one of the dressing rooms.
The sanction against the two Bangladesh players was criticised on Twitter after being compared to South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada’s punishment for brushing shoulders with Steve Smith.
‘Getting one demerit point and losing 25% of the match fee for what happened yesterday, #BANvsSL, is like getting a pat on the back. I hope Rabada doesn’t see what happened. This was as close to a punch-up as you will see. Very mystifying,’ tweeted Indian cricket journalist Harsha Bhogle.

‘Only one demerit point for Shakib Al Hasan and Nurul Hasan. So the ICC is telling us that an international captain telling his players to walk off because he didn’t agree with an on-field call is half the offence that your shirt brushes against an opponent is. #Rabada,’ wrote Saurabh Somani.
