Kyle Abbott took 7-41 on day two as Hampshire clawed their way back against Yorkshire to skittle them for 187.
Abbott, in his debut division one County Championship match as a Kolpak player, gave his side a chance for victory going into day three, after a poor reply to Yorkshire’s first-innings total.
He took 2-64 on day one, which helped restrict Yorkshire to 273, with his side replying with 141 on day two.
Abbott’s seven-for helped throttle the target as his side finished 10-0 by stumps, with 310 required for victory.
Essex vs Lancashire (Division one)
Essex were bowled out for 159, with Ryan McLaren picking up 2-19. Lancashire replied with 114-1 to take their lead to 274.
Kent vs Gloucestershire (Division two)
Graeme van Buuren scored 10 as Gloucestershire were bowled out for 149.
Kent replied by scoring 118-4 at stumps on day two, taking their lead to 267.
Nottinghamshire vs Leicestershire (Division two)
Nottinghamshire were bowled out for 329 in their first innings.
Leicester scored 51-6 with Colin Ackermann only posting 14, as his side trails Nottinghamshire by 27 runs.
Northamptonshire vs Glamorgan (Division two)
Rory Kleinveldt starred with bat and ball for his side, scoring 86 off 58 balls to help his side post a first innings total of 310, and took 3-54 to help skittle the opposition for 186. This sealed an innings and 22 run victory for Northamptonshire.
Jacques Rudolf scored 21 and Colin Ingram posted 47 for Glamorgan, but could not save their side from defeat.
Marchant de Lange, in his first County Championship match, finished with figures of 2-85 for Glamorgan.
