Rilee Rossouw smashed an unbeaten 112 off 55 balls as the Free State Knights beat Western Province by four runs in their T20 Knock Out quarter-final on Tuesday.
The 32-year-old left-hander, who last played white-ball cricket for the Proteas in 2016, hit seven fours and eight sixes after coming in at No 3.
With Farhaan Behardien scoring 57 off 29, the Knights were able to post a massive total of 223-3.
WP made a gallant effort to chase it down and got as close as they did thanks to 80* off just 29 balls from captain Wayne Parnell, batting at No 7. He hit six fours and six sixes.
The next biggest contributor was Jonathan Bird (32 off 22) as the rest of the top order failed to hang around long enough to make a real impact.
The Knights will face the winner of Wednesday’s quarter-final between the Boland Rocks and North West Dragons (2:30pm) in the semi-finals on Thursday.
