Rudi Second scored a century to give the Warriors the ascendancy in their match against the Cobras.
The Warriors came into day three of the contest at 91-2, just a slender lead of 30 runs. However, Second backed up a first-innings half-century with 114 in the second dig.
He shared a big partnership with Yaseen Vallie (57) which got the Warriors to 325, setting the Cobras 265 for victory. Cobras seamer Calvin Savage took 4-81.
At stumps the Cape side were 82-3, with Janneman Malan (44) and Kyle Verreynne (6) at the crease. They need 183 more runs to win.
In Bloemfontein, the Lions were forced to follow on after being bowled out for 262 in response to the Knights’ first-innings 472. Rassie van der Dussen scored 114*, but was offered very little support by his teammates.
The Lions are reeling at 43-2 in the second dig, leaving them trailing by 167 runs.
