Faf du Plessis is one of four South Africans to nominate for the new Big Bash League overseas draft.
The others are batsman Rilee Rossouw, who has been recalled to the Proteas T20I squad, fast bowler Marchant de Lange and former Proteas all-rounder David Wiese, who is now playing for Namibia.
Overseas players must nominate their price category – gold, silver or bronze – and their availability for the BBL ahead of the draft, which will be held in August.
They do not have to be available for the whole tournament but must be available for a portion of it.
Du Plessis, who captained the Bangalore Royal Challengers in this year’s IPL, made a single appearance for the Melbourne Renegades in the 2012–13 BBL season.
