Derbyshire’s Wayne Madsen was the star South African performer in the third round of the English County Championship.
County Championship Division One
SA-born former England international Dawid Malan scored 37 off 91 deliveries (two fours) for Yorkshire in their draw with Durham.
Migael Pretorius took 5-64 and added 47* (three fours) in Somerset’s draw with Hampshire.
County Championship Division Two
Former Proteas seamer Marchant de Lange contributed with bat and ball, scoring 51 off 27 deliveries (three fours, four sixes) in Gloucestershire’s first innings, before taking 2-72.
Pretoria-born Graeme van Buuren hit 56 off 68 balls (four fours) to secure the draw for Kent.
Derbyshire captain Wayne Madsen, who spent four seasons at the KZN Dolphins before moving full-time to England, continued his fine form with 91 off 137 balls (12 fours, one six) and 62 off 106 (nine fours).
Former Boland batsmen Ricardo Vasconcelos scored a first-innings 82 off 117 deliveries (14 fours) for Northamptonshire in the drawn match.
